Artemis Owl Systems is the independent research and systems practice of Will Corbett.
My background is in enterprise platform architecture and large-scale reliability — keeping real systems legible, dependable, and defensible as they grow. Artemis Owl applies that discipline to the layer where AI now meets production: the seams between models, tools, policies, and consequences. As software shifts from conversational endpoints to autonomous, agentic workflows, the standard infrastructure paradigms stop holding. The work published here is about what replaces them.
The practice is organized around four pillars:
- Trust — explicit boundaries, policy engines, provenance, and runtime evidence, so a system can show what it did and why.
- Semantics — ontologies and contracts as versioned, enforced structure, so systems and models share one reality.
- Inference Engineering — context brokerage, semantic caching, and dynamic routing treated as a governed operational layer rather than a black box.
- Middleware — the mediation and control layer where multi-step work stays legible or breaks down.
The writing stays close to real operating conditions because it is drawn from a working ecosystem of projects: some published as public repositories, some presented as briefs while the source stays private, and some still in the workshop. Field notes and artifacts come from that build work, not from commentary.
